FAQ
Q: What are our men’s support group meeting’s like?
A: Starting in August 2021, we are offering in person and online meetings. For those attending online, men are asked to find a space where they can talk freely, and speak and listen confidentially. Our face-to-face meetings are held in meeting rooms Lambertville, NJ and Middlesex. NJ. Six different groups meet every other week, on Monday (week 1, 2), Wednesday ( 1, 2) and Thursday(1, 2) evenings.
Q: Why are the meetings important?
A: Often we find that men are great about talking about sports or current events but have trouble talking about the things that really mean something in their lives. Each meeting is facilitated so that interested men are given the opportunity to share and discuss.
Q: Am I required to share and participate?
A: No, sharing is not mandatory. Initially, you may find that participation is more comfortable by listening and observing, until you get a feel for the group. No one is pushing you.
Q: Will the group give me advice?
A: As a group, we listen to each man without judgment. The purpose of mentoring is to be in dialogue with the group for what you need. You may decide that you want the group to simply listen and witness your comments, or you may ask for feedback and advice.
Q: When are the meetings?
A: The meetings are usually from 7:30-10 PM. One night every other week. Currently there are groups meeting on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. You are encouraged to stay the entire meeting, yet you are not obligated. Arrive when you can, and leave when you must.
